Celebrate…

Tomorrow we release the new books. Book 12 and Book 8 will be viewed by family, friends, and clients. We will toast our OPUS with some OPUS. We will celebrate.

Here’s a taste from the 12…

At BTL, we believe that sustainable high performance is a myth. We expect our relationships to be filled with conflict and we are not disappointed. They are. We believe that the greatest teams learn how to fight to improve performance, not to prove a point, and we are experiencing both! The BTL team is not normal, nor do we care. We are a group of “microprenuers” who are creating a team that is inter-dependent and plays together ONLY when it wants to. We are magic, and not because we live in some squishy, conflict free zone where everbody just tells each other that “day by day we’re just getting better and better.”

Nothing could be further from the truth. We taste the magic of chemistry because we LOVE each other enough to fight fairly. We hit each other in the mouth. This is honest even when it hurts. We hit each other hard. We have a “zero tolerance” policy for stabs to the back and for gossip from the mouth. We call bullshit when wo do not believe another builder. We fight to improve performance. We are learning to fight more often; for some this is harder than for others. Here’s something else weird. Do not miss this one either.

At BTL, we are not the same and we are not even all headed in the same direction. We’re cool with living “just this side of chaos” – some of us more so than others. We do not have a shared vision. Let me repeat. We don’t have a shared vision. Doesn’t that sound like a problem to be fixed, a mind to be swayed, or an employee to get back in line?

NOPE.

That sounds like the way of the MUSTANGS, not the way of the mules. That sounds like us. We share small pieces of vision and have come to understand that’s enough.
