Today we held practice with a young team. One individual got put on the SPOT. We shined the bright lights on him. He didn’t hit it out of the park. He barely made it to first base. He survived to play another day.
Here’s the BIG news. He swung the bat. He took a chance. He was willing to expose himself in front of his peers. He did NOT play it safe. Today he found some missing pieces to his voice. Tomorrow, he’ll find some more. One of these days he’s going to break through to the other side. He’s going to find his voice. Today he practiced. He played. He took some chances. He experimented. He risked looking like an idiot.
Today his confidence grew. He’s beginning to believe he has what it takes. Tomorrow, he’s going to “tighten it up” to use his words.
Very cool.
He got better TODAY.
Did you?

Practice is the key. The MORE REAL, the better we become. I hope this future leader keeps trying, keeps working, and realizes that home runs aren’t everything. The base hits win games too!
How many times in baseball do they put the base hit guy on top?
GO, GO, GO, it only gets harder, and more satisfying!
