Carpenter Kevin from Columbus…

I met a guy this week named Kevin. He works for one of my coaching clients. He’s a carpenter. A darn good one, I’m sure. He and a number of other carpenters, architects, estimators, office workers, and even some “outsider” got together for three days of BTL practice this week.

Kevin’s body language on day one said only one thing. At least only one thing that I picked up. His body language told me he was from Missouri….you know, the “show me” state!

Day three Kevin’s body language “showed me” something had changed. Kevin told everyone that was paying attention that he was going to work. He was going to work on discovering his CORE. He called it “getting informed.”

Kevin was given the gift of time this week by his BOSS. Kevin, like so many in attendance, took that gift and made the most of it. I LOVED hanging out with this TEAM. I learned a ton and, as always, had boatloads of FUN. Here’s my biggest learning from these three days. Do NOT miss this. This is HUGE. Here it is.

Carpenters, if they’re anything like the ones I just hung out with, are really tuned into the BTL message. As a whole, they are miles away from labor. They are more like artists. Their canvas is their wood. Their brushes are heavier but they paint just the same. These guys LOVE making beautiful things. They get the BTL message much quicker than my “corporate” types. Very cool.

In fact, these carpenters are COOL.

Hey Carpenter Kevin from Columbus, tell your team THANKS for me when you see them next.

I learned a ton.

Hey all you BTL clients…when are you going to give the gift of practice to your TEAMS?

To your entire TEAM?

Who don’t you think is worth it?

Why? Why? Why?
