Kick your own…

Stress is neutral. Stress is simply a challenge that causes growth. Distress is more challenge than you’ve been built, at the moment, to handle. Eustress is that same kinda stress that once broke you, but after repeated practice and perseverance, now builds you.

Today, stress yourself. Challenge yourself to do a bit more than you’re comfortable doing. Find the outer edges of your challenge zone and press up against your anxious state known as your panic zone. Kick your own ass, if you will. High performers the world over follow this recipe. Study history and you will see that this is FACT. Do not wait for another to administer the pain. Kick your own ass, FIRST.

High performers the world over are doing one more rep, making one more call, knocking off one more task, hearing one more hard truth, correcting one more mistake, repairing one more relationship, and not waiting for another human to do the kicking.

Here’s the hard part. High performers, the ones that sustain this kinda performance, don’t begin by simply sitting down and kicking their own ASS. First, they begin a bit more positively. They gain clarity of their own big dream, their OPUS. They don’t STOP until it’s crystal clear. You are either clear or you’re not. The real problem is that most humans stop when it’s somewhat clear and then get bummed and lose heart when lifes little challenges block their view. High performers rinse and repeat, rinse and repeat, rinse and repeat, until it’s squeaky clean. They can feel, see, and sense the difference.

Armed with this kinda clarity, they unleash a can of whoopASS and then another. High performers kick your ass because they’ve been kicking themselves a whole lot longer.
