Last night we attended New Albany Church where our son, Taylor, and a number of his friends call home. Songs were sung and the Christmas story was told. Some of our family came with joy and anticipation in their heart, some came with not so much. Some didn’t come at all. We celebrated, anyway. We celebrated that God moved toward us all when he sent His son, Jesus, to be with us. We celebrated that God loved us enough to make the first move. He moved toward his creation even as his creation continued to run away. He moved.
Today, as you celebrate with those that you love remember that He wants you and I to model the way. He wants you and I to move toward each other. He wants you to move toward a brother, a sister, a son, a daughter, a neighbor, a bride, a friend, a mom, and even a dad. Remember, our relationships are poison and wine just as we are. Make the first move. Move toward. Many will run. Move, anyway.
May God bless you and give you His LOVE to move. Move toward that relationship or relationships. Move toward, my friend.
God, help me to STOP running away. God, help me…
