Focus here…

You do not sustain a healthy/physical life by focusing on your perceived ideal weight; your big dream, if you will. You build a healthy/physical life by focusing on a few healthy “hinge kinda habits.” One of my personal hinges is monitoring my intake of simple carbohydrates. I eat vegetables, proteins, and good fats without so much as a care. Simple carbs and sugar get my attention. Very few of ’em are input into my system. Another of my hinge habits is thirty minutes of core work, three times/week. I run and ride when time permits and when I feel like it. Three times a week, however, I strengthen my core without excuse. I know my hinge habits. I focus here…

The world focuses on outcomes. High performers focus on finding the most productive action, the hinge habits that lead toward the end results their after. High performers focus on hinge habits. Focusing on the hinge keeps them in the moment and less anxious about others and outcomes.

Today, one of my clients changed his focus from overly fixating on his desired outcome to, instead, focusing on finding his hinge habits. He is on his way to less anxiety, less frustration, and lots of experiments. He will find his hinges if he sticks with this discipline.

Remember, high performers once their OPUS is authored and stinkin’ clear, spend little time focused there. They understand that their playbook of productive action, their PoP, is their hinge. They focus here. They PoP like a banchee and overtime and through lots and lots of experiments they stumble onto the hinge habits that breathe life into their masterpiece.

Where, my friend, is your focus…
