Lead anything or anyone and you are gonna find yourself, on multiple occassions, in a really desparate situation. You and your team will be facing a product failure, a market change, or some kinda unforseen economic advance or downturn, that flips you and your business on it’s head. You with me? Here’s the enemy. Most leaders scream, yell, and demand that somebody give them a silver bullet. Here’s the truth – silver bullets do NOT exist. Stop looking for them. Instead, demand a lot of lead bullets. Tell the team and yourself to get busy baby stepping their way into fixing the product, figuring out the market, and re-positioning ourselves for the new economy. Good. You just learned a bit about surviving any situation.
There are no silver bullets but there is always another move. And another. And another. And another. And another. This is true. The world is filled with problems and there are tons and tons of lead bullets. Baby steps, my friends. Baby steps. Honestly admit your current state, hopefully aim at your dream state. And, settle in to a rhythm of productive action, productive action, productive action. Good.
And, lots of lead bullets later, a clearer path forward freakin’ magically arrives…
