We live in a divided culture worldwide. There are a myriad of categories by which we can choose to be divided or be told we are divided. The reasons are as old as time. Leadership bears responsibility. So do we.
The greatest leaders throughout history seek to unite us, not divide us. We have so much more in common as humans that we could choose to focus on that would unite us. Read Don Brown’s Human Universals. His OPUS was to discover what we, as humans, have in common that cut across gender, age, racial and cultural differences. His research results are fascinating and, for me, encouraging.

Together we Awaken, Challenge and Transform a few individuals, teams, and leaders from a lone toward all ONE – one L of a difference. One, distinct and deeply connected, becoming BTL. Together we transform, always together.
I love the acronym that arises out of our purpose statement: ACT. Awaken, Challenge and Transform. Leadership that unites requires the leader to ACT. Not just complain, not point fingers, not pass the buck, and not go full turtle.
Leadership that unites leans on a clear vision fueled by love and the courage to be different. Leadership with the willingness to call out injustice, to speak truth to power, to take risks and lead toward wholeness. To have the conversations that bring understanding. To be With.
Leadership that unites starts with Oneness within. Build there first, leader. Then unite us.
God help me to be one who unites. God help me.
