Day 315 Veterans Day

Way too much emotion for me to write much today. I’ve got to spend time with some of the strongest emotions of both love and loss that one can experience.

No man of any place or time fought alongside greater warriors than myself, Jim Gant.

Thank all of you who fought so bravely with so much courage with so much passion.

It was you all who led me.

I love you and miss you.

Jocko Willink and I had the honor of writing editorial reviews for Steven Pressfield’s latest book “A Man at Arms” and today I will steal Jocko’s words to describe for me one last part of combat that I miss. Thanks, Jocko and I will be thinking of you and all of our brothers and sisters in-arms today.

God Bless the United States of America.

Day 315…Yearning.

  1. My words are insufficient. Yet my heart, my gratitude and my prayers, brother Jim, are with you and your men. Thank you for sharing Jocko’s message. Greater love has no man than this…John 15:13. I am not worthy, yet I choose to live my life so as to honor the courage and sacrifice of my family and my friends who have stood on the wall. Every day.

  2. Ditto to Kitty. Jim, this is a day our nation has consecrated to honoring you and the ones who have sacrificed their own freedom of parts or all of their lives to give us ours.

Thank you, warrior Jim, for giving us glimpses into what this freedom costs — that we may be grateful and never take it for granted. Humbly.
