Doctrine and dogma

“You gotta challenge all assumptions. If you don’t, what is doctrine on day one becomes dogma.” – John Boyd

This is a big part of the role of builders. Get each client to challenge their own assumptions, especially those that by virtue of being unquestioned (and often a reluctance to have them questioned), have become dogma. This dogma has then created a particular type of life. Often that life is unsatisfactory in some way, shape, or form, hence why they are looking for help.

The fun part as a builder is that nothing is off limits. Every single board of your foundational dogma is up for examination. We dig in until you’re crystal clear on why you believe it, what the consequences are of that belief (good or bad), and how you want to behave in alignment with it. Once you’re crystal clear, then the real fun starts – time to start living it out. Giddy up.

What has become dogma for you that must be examined? What aspects of your life are unsatisfactory, and how have you created or allowed that condition to flourish? What do you want to do differently?
