The Band…

What follows, friend, is my note to the band earlier this evening. I’m sharing because I’m too full not to. Feel free to skip this one. Feel free to let the freakin’ magic in. You choose…

BTL band, I’ll miss tomorrow for practice. Flying to KC at 7bells. Full grandbaby time Friday through Sunday. Lockton Monday with Vossilage and Jigs. Feeling beyond blessed. This band has been a gift I did not expect or even see coming. You all are a part of something so freakin’ special. There’s not another like us. We are ALL OPUS practitioners. We are all former misfit toys who found a world where we belong. Never take this band for granted. Give more than you take. Give more. Give like Gu, from a full heart. Give like Peteyboy who has never met a bad dude. Give like JimmyTHEgant, who knows nothing but full gas when it comes to giving. Give more.

Grumdelagrum, a former CompuServe dude, just sent me his father’s autographed copy of Ayn Rand’s masterpiece – Atlas Shrugged. Her note to Mr. Grummer was dated 1957. He sent it to me with a handwritten note of gratitude for our time together. He remembered our interview from the 1990’s like it was yesterday. Said it was supposed to be a 45 minute interview and I sat on the CompuServe couch (the opportunity couch as I had renamed it) with him for 2.5 hours. He missed his flight. Stayed the night. Said no to his other offer. Joined us and became our top sales dude for three years running. Grumdelagrum is currently writing his first and only book on his life and sales career. I’m reading it and giving him my two cents along the way. Whenever this bad boy hits the market you will want to devour it. He has the gift, you know.

Steak dinner tonight with Miss. Talked golf with Jordy. Talked life with Lil Jeggie. Getting ready to return a call to my college roomie, Hannus, who never stops reaching out to me with a full heart and even fuller perspective. He was the fist Christian I met who was cool. Changed me forever. So, as I write this rant, I’m left feeling grateful and extremely blessed. Our work, band, is exactly this. Take whatever time it takes to over serve your clients. Give more. Give more. Damn.

Back to reality, you know.

Had cut 84 this morning on my left leg.  I’m good. Just inconvenienced. Have two friends facing brain surgery and one just diagnosed with Leukemia. We’re all hanging by a thread. Give more than you take. Give more. God bless…

Live hard. Love ❤️ harder…
