America…

I’m accused on occasion for being a little extreme on the exercise front. I appreciate receiving these accusations even though they are largely unfounded. However, I would like to point out an extreme example for you – Teddy Roosevelt. You see, Teddy was a sickly child who had frequent bouts of stomach trouble and asthma. He was bed ridden, timid, and frail. His father was not easy on him. Teddy was ten when his father sat him down for a talk.

“Theodore, you have the mind but you have not the body, and without the help of the body the mind cannot go as far as it should,” he admonished. “You must make your body. It is hard drudgery to make one’s body, but I know you will do it.”

Teddy’s response was some kinda ccd magic. “I’ll make my body.” And so he did. He was a fanatic of the 3P. The guy pushed, pulled, and worked his core. Teddy Roosevelt made his body do what it could. His mind and body ended up capable of doing a lot. He fed his mind good books and his body good food and hard work. He reformed himself and then got to work reforming his state and our country. He was a little extreme too…

As Governor of New York he regularly entertained his guests in Albany to a boxing and wrestling match following dinner. The funniest part was Teddy would box and wrestle some unlucky politician who had come a calling. Teddy not only grappled with the issues of the day, he grappled with the issuer late into the night. He made his body. He made his mind. He made hard decisions as our President too. Study him and you’ll learn how far we’ve fallen. President Obama has taken us down and told our country to stay down. Don’t listen to him.

Get up. Make your body. Make your mind. You are not living in victimhood; you reside in America. And, while you’re up and at it – go invest ninety minutes watching the documentary titled appropriately; AMERICA. And, if you’re looking for some good food for your mind – go read the book, Democracy in America. And, if you’re still feeling frisky, go get after something you believe in and make it better. Done so.

America. This is how we get better…
