Assume less, friend, when you think it’s obvious your teammate understands where you’re coming from, why you decided whatever you decided, or what TBD means regarding their spot in the starting lineup.
Everyday we encounter leaders who’ve assumed too much. So much of our conflict stems from assuming. Most leaders suffer from the curse of knowledge – Once we know something, we cannot remember what it felt like not to know. Avoid the curse of knowledge, leader. Assume less. Speak and listen more. Listen a lot more. Enough said.
