Family happiness…

The most read post on the BTL blog is this one from 2008. It comes courtesy of Tolstoy and his worthy read titled Family Happiness. You need to read this and sit with it for awhile, maybe a long while. The world is not speeding up, but many of you are. Time is not changing, but many of you sense you have less of it. You and I are not an amalgamation of our successes and fails – we are so much more. Tolstoy wrote better than he lived. Far too many of us seem to be following suit and working better than we’re living. I hope you enjoy this short snippet.

“I have lived through much, and now I think I have found what is needed for happiness. A quiet secluded life in the country, with the possibility of being useful to people to whom it is easy to do good, and who are not accustomed to have it done to them; then work which one hopes may be of some use; then rest, nature, books, music, love for one’s neighbor – such is my idea of happiness. And then, on top of all that, you for a mate, and children, perhaps – what more can the heart of a man desire?” What a great question, friends.

Live hard. Love harder (Thanks, Teeks)…
