Heraclitus, back in the 5th century BC, said this about the power of one warrior on the battlefield. Slowly let this truth sink into you, my friend. “Out of every one hundred men, ten shouldn’t even be there, eighty are just targets, nine are the real fighters, and we are lucky to have them, for they make the battle. Ah, but the one, one is a warrior…”
You, leader, are one warrior. Your team must see shoot in your eyes for them to have any hope in theirs. You are the one. Embrace this. Everything rises and falls on leadership. Your job is to model the way, embrace pain and suffering, and embody truth in love. Your job is to focus on changing your behaviors and change your beliefs about others. Stop expecting a team of warriors behind or beside you. Be one. Your belief will transform you and at least a few of your followers. Eighty are targets and ten have no business being here. Focus on the few. Be one. Transform from a lone toward all one – one L of a difference. Like me, you’ll learn that mass attracts mass. One warrior will attract another. Good.
Live hard. Love harder…
Chet,
Amen. Amen. Amen.
Piece by Peace,
Jim
