Order matters when it comes to our OPUS. The dreaming is meant to come before the doing.
Recently with an athlete we were talking about disciplines and love toos. It was apparent that it is easy to only fixate on the disciplines once you get busy down the do do trail. We went backwards and I got curious about what first felt good about the sport. What moments do you have seared in your memory? This part was easy. Now I asked them, why does it feel more like a do do trail then before? The reply is common, which is that I lost sight of what my dream was and why it made me energized to do the work everyday.
We go backwards to move forward. Go back and look at what energizes you about your OPUS. Take time to envision what your OPUS would look like. Keep this in the front of your mind and the rest will follow.
