Understood…

Yesterday, at the end of practice 89, we practiced 7 good minutes. We had a hard practice focused on finding more love for our work. I had pushed a few squarely into their challenge zone. A few had pushed back on me. We unpacked the difference between motivation and inspiration and discovered a bit more about ourselves and our team. This team is flying high, setting records, and crushing the competition.

And, practicing all the while. You see, friend, chasing excellence is a habit. We win, learn, level up. We don’t wait for a loss to wake us up. We practice and continue to challenge ourselves and each other to reach for more. Excellence is not interested in yesterday. Excellence inspires more. So, yesterday, we gave the gift of understanding to the one seated next to us. We got curious. It was freakin’ magic. Look at a couple of those faces. That is a picture of what being understood looks like. Give this gift, leader. Nothing builds team chemistry deeper than being understood. Shady’s feeling it in the first pic. Watchman (in the second pic) can’t believe his good fortune finding someone who loves five stars the way he does. Who knew?

Get curious. Who knows, you may just be the one walking away smiling. It is more blessed to give than receive. Truth. Understood. Good.
