Ecclesiastes 4:12 – “Though one may be overtaken, two can defend themselves. A cord of three strands is not quickly broken.”
This morning I began 2023 BTL practices on purpose. I pulled two strong dudes together and told them exactly what I wanted from them. I want us to become a cord of three strands, starting now. We’ve been friends for years. They’ve trusted me with words not uttered to others. Sacred. Precious. Privilege. We all want deeper relationships at home and stronger leadership at work. We know the change we want in our teams starts with deep change within us. And, most importantly, we three agree it starts with looking up.
So, we’re going to start each Monday being real. We’re going to bilaterally build. This is not about me leading them. This is about the three of us learning to follow God’s lead on our life. We’re going to awaken, challenge, and transform. Real. Hard. Opus. No silver bullets will be found. Living in alignment between beliefs and behaviors is embracing lots of lead bullets. We are going to sharpen each other and it’s going to hurt as it helps.
God, help us look to you and your word as we share truth with one another. God, help us increase our resolve. God, help us transform our minds, spirits, and very souls. Three strands and the truth. It’s about time. Damn.
