Ignorance is bliss…

Last night, after sharing a steak with my son, he told me about his philosophy class and what’s he’s learned after a couple weeks. He was amazed some of his classmates preferred a mindset of “ignorance is bliss” over his alignment with “knowledge is power.” Funny, huh…

With knowledge increasing at never before seen levels, you would think our next generation of humans would have an increasing appetite somewhat coinciding, wouldn’t you? Read Christian Smith’s book titled, Lost in Transition and see some science to set you straight. And, leader, stop burying your head in the sand too. Like some kinda kindergartner with his hands over his eyes, thinking we can’t somehow see him ’cause he can’t see us, we’ve become corporate leaders, parents, and teachers who blindly look beyond the problem child everyone else sees as if they were an elephant in the room.

Yes, knowledge is power but only if you use it. I mean what’s the point of acquiring it and then not having the nerve to put it to use. Like jmo said in practice 152, it would be kinda like receiving a $1,000,000 check from your employer and not cashing it. Y.O.U. most certainly wouldn’t, would you?

Good…
