There are no silver bullets, only lead ones. Lots and lots of lead ones. Whatever you’re chasing, sign up for the apprenticeship, the pilgrimage, the long and arduous climb. Mastery of anything takes a long obedience in the same direction. Stop chasing shiny objects today. Settle in for the long climb. Embrace it. See the beauty in the severity of the test. Widen perspective. Good.
God, help me stop conforming to this world of instant everything and be transformed by the renewing of my mind. God, help me look to you for guidance. God, help me find joy in learning to do hard (worthwhile) things well. God, help me.
